Sales FAQs

What are the pros of buying a new car?

There are several pros to buying a new car, such as a clean history and a warranty that covers manufacturer defects. When you buy a used car, original warranties are expired most of the time or can’t be transferred to a new owner. When you choose a new Nissan, however, you’ll gain access to the latest innovative technology and safety features this brand can deliver.

What are the benefits of driving an all-electric vehicle?

The biggest perk to driving an all-electric vehicle is the fact that you’ll reduce your carbon footprint significantly. EVs emit zero emissions, so you’ll be cruising in an efficient ride that’s also eco-friendly. Also, wave goodbye to some standard engine maintenance like oil changes. Finally, experience a long battery warranty with your all-electric ride (some even last longer than gas-powered vehicle warranties).

What are the benefits of buying a used car?

If you’re looking for an affordable and practical alternative, a used car is the choice for you. They’ve already experienced their depreciation decline, which yields a lower down payment and monthly payments. A pre-owned ride also makes it easier to pay off your loan faster than if you were to purchase a new model. Insurance companies frequently view used cars as less threatening than new ones. Plus, our used inventory allows you to enjoy limitless options of many makes and models.

What’s the difference between used and CPO?

Don’t settle for anything less than quality. Our used models have been thoroughly inspected by our expert technicians and are held to a high standard. However, in order for a vehicle to receive certification from the manufacturer, Certified Pre-Owned vehicles have to pass their strict guidelines. Any type of car can be a CPO model, but not every vehicle can pass. There are certain age and mileage limitations and a comprehensive exterior and interior inspection. If you buckle up in one of our used vehicles, you’ll drive home in a quality ride. But when you cruise in a CPO model, you’ll have an extraordinary experience.

Finance FAQs

What do I bring to the dealership when I’m ready to buy or lease?

In order to have a seamless buying or leasing experience, here is a list of cars and documents you can’t forget to bring:

1. Driver’s license

2. Social security card

3. Proof of car insurance

4. Wallet or checkbook

5. Proof of employment, residence and salary

What is a bad credit score and how do I fix it?

The most common credit score that lenders use is the FICO® Score 8. Generally, credit scores range between 300-850. A poor score can be around 300-569, fair is 570-669 and any score above 670 is considered good. To improve your score, simply make payments on time, stay below your credit limit and refute any credit errors you discover on your credit report. If you remain diligent, you’ll notice your score gradually increase.

What if my application gets denied?

Credit scores always fluctuate, so don’t sweat it if it ebbs and flows. If your application gets denied, you can ask a family member or a trustworthy friend to be your co-signer. If you have questions about your application denial, our team will be happy to help answer them. In the meantime, focus on repairing your credit and we’ll be ready to help you whenever you need.

Do those loan add-ons really benefit me? And what is GAP insurance?

Take it from our finance team, loan add-ons can be very beneficial. Take advantage of protection such as extended warranties or Roadside Assistance — this can help you significantly save on future maintenance costs. GAP insurance can also be helpful if you get into an accident — it closes the gap between what you owe on your auto loan and what your vehicle appraises for.

How do I know that I’m getting a good deal?

Not only do we offer monthly new and used car specials, but here at Cherokee County Nissan, we reasonably price all of the vehicles we sell. If you want to double check whether you’re getting a good deal or not, visit Kelley Blue Book® to ensure its MSRP and value. Service & Parts FAQs

Why should I service my car at the dealership?

While it may seem like an attractive option, a local mechanic won’t know your Nissan as well as our specialized technicians. Our team knows your model inside and out and has easy access to genuine OEM parts and top-of-the-line diagnostic equipment. We also know what’s covered under your car warranty and can apply that toward the services that qualify — a local mechanic can’t say the same.

Do name-brand batteries actually perform better?

Absolutely! We notice that generic batteries typically can’t handle colder temperatures since it requires more power to start your car’s engine during the chilly season. The latest technology and security systems can also drain your model’s battery, too. Name-brand batteries are better equipped to handle any technology or climates that your vehicle comes across. Plus, generic batteries won’t come with certified warranties from the manufacturer — so name-brand is the way to go.

How often should I have my vehicle’s oil changed?

When in doubt, always check your owner’s manual to see the specified time frames in which you should get your car’s routine maintenance completed. Our technicians have noticed that a majority of vehicles require an oil change every 7,500 miles, or every six months. However, older models may have to stick to about every 5,000 miles. With the latest technological advancements, newer vehicles can go longer between oil changes — which is nice for your wallet!

How often should my car’s brakes be checked?

This answer may vary depending on how often you drive and what your owner’s manual recommends. As a rule of thumb, never neglect regular maintenance and inspections for your car’s operating systems. To prevent long-term damage, bring in your vehicle for a brake inspection or get it done every time you have your tires rotated. If you have a stop-and-go daily commute, you may need to come in more often.

When is it a good time to replace my model’s tires?

The penny method is a common and effective way to monitor the health of your tires. Simply stick a penny between the grooves with the top of Lincoln’s head going into the tire. If you still see Lincoln’s head, it’s probably time for a new set. Schedule an appointment with our technicians and we’ll be happy to install quality replacement tires!

Why are genuine OEM parts better for my car?

Genuine OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts are specifically designed with your exact make and model in mind. This means that they’ll perform at maximum efficiency — generic brands simply can’t deliver the same quality. We recommend purchasing OEM parts for any component your ride requires so you’ll have peace of mind during every drive.
